I'm hoping someone here can help me. I have an Iconia Tab 10 running Android 6. My problem is this: I have downloaded a non-Google play apk, but I cannot install it. I have turned off Bluelight Shield app, stopped all apps 'drawing' on the screen (as far as I know), and allowed downloads from unknown sources. But when the download has finished, I cannot open it from the notification bar, nor can I open it from the Download folder.

I have tried apk installers as well, but when I tap the 'Install' button, nothing happens.

I installed the same apk on my much older, seriously under-powered tablet, and it installed fine. My old tablet cannot actually run the app, but I have it installed, which is strange to me!

I wonder if anyone here knows why I can't install it on my new tablet, please? This is driving me crazy!! Smiley Mad

We're not familiar with installing non-Google Play apps, but if it is compatible with the version of Android you have then at this point we recommend contacting the vendor of the app for assistance with the installation.

Or perhaps someone here on the Community is familiar with this apk that can offer some advice?

Thank you for your reply, Acer-Mary.

I know it was a bit of a long shot. I just wondered if any of the bundled Acer apps may have interrupted the install process somehow. Looks like a process of elimination may be the answer............
