Screen not responding after opening the lid

Hello I have a r5 471t with the 360 degrees hinge.  I've had this laptop for almost a month now and it is manufacturer refurbished.  Anyways I've had a couple instances with the screen that concerns me.  The 1st time happened when I just got the laptop and I had it in tablet mode.  When I was done using it I just turned the hinge 360 all the way back to the closed position.  Later on when I opened the lid, the laptop would wake up as indicated by the power light but the screen wouldnt wake up.  It wouldn't respond(screen stayed black) so I had to restart the computer.  I shrugged that off to a 1 time occurence. 

 

Then last night it happened again, I was done with the laptop for the night and closed the lid.  When I went to open the lid again, this time the screen was black with red pink vertical lines across the screen.  I closed the lid and opened it again but this time it worked like normal.  RIght now it's working good but I hope this is something that won't keep getting worse?  Is this something I should be concerned about?

    This sounds like a hardware issue that will require service to repair. If this is a recertified system you should have received documentation with the support contact information but it should be the company below that handles these products. Please contact them for assistance.
