Iconia Tab 10 A3-A40 Unable to change screen brightness

Just bought myself a new Acer Iconia Tab 10 (A3-A40)

Had it update itself to the most recent updates and got it set up as I want it.

Then I discovered I was not able to change screen brightness, it is at max brightness regardless of me using the slider bar.

This is no good as it devours battery, and also because I often use my Tab in a dark room.

Now, I've checked for similar cases here in the forum, and found that for the A3-A30 a factory reset solved this issue.

So I tried that, and checked if I was able to change screen brightness before alowing my Tab to update.

It did not work, and now after updating and setting up again, I am back at square one.

Amybody got any ideas?

Since you are under warranty, it's better if you contact your seller or Acer support service.

    I'm not an Acer employee.

Pardon my English, it is not my native language.

I found myself in the same situation, but after checking the Internet (where I found this post), I checked the brightness adjustment on Moon+ Reader and found out that the screen brightness did actually change inside the app.

To fix the problem I did several tries, starting by uninstalling any app that I thought might be interfering with the system. I didn´t work, but I´m mentioning in case the next solution does not work on itself for other people.

What worked was installing a simple widget to change brightness (Brightness Widget - open source, from F-Droid). After installing and using it to change brightness, the normal system slider resumed working again.

This information might be outdated, since the tablet just got another update, but the brightness adjustment is still working.

    I hope it helps.
