Creating System Recovery Disks Windows 10

Hi all,

 

I need to create system recovery disks but unsure how to do it.

 

Can someone please give me the instructions?

ETA: Found it but I want to create a disk. It's asking for a usb

    No disks on windows 10, just USB since they are more reliable and faster to read/write.

    Thank you. Just need to get a thumb drive big enough. 

     

    Why did they change to usb when discs are much easier to store?

    Mostly because USB flash drive is faster and more reliable than DVD and some laptops are without DVD drive.

    Not yet Ingrid1990. I just need to get a usb thumb drive. Probablywon't be till Monday

    Great. 

    But you should know that the ISO file downloading from Microsoft official website doesn't contain your current OS personal settings. If you want to keep these personal settings and backup current Windows 10 system to USB drive, you may get "the drive is not a valid backup location" warning. The solution is create recovery drive with professional software or keep regular backups of Windows 10 on safe place and create a bootable media by backup & restore software. Restore the latest backup point of Windows 10 if the need ever arises.
