I'm intending to buy an Aspire AIO U5-710 (i7) but would like to have an SSD (perhaps the crucial MX300 2TB SATA 2.5" 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) Internal SSD) because I work a lot with graphics software and would appreciate the extra speed. However I'm a novice at replacing a hard disc and have a couple of questions:

1) I'll get the computer new with windows 10 installed. Can I then simply dissasemble (as in the usful guide on this forum ("Acer-Aspire-U5-710-disassembly-guide"), replace the drive, and start using the comuter? Or do I have to do something with the software as well? If so what...

2) Is it possible to leave the existing hard disc in place and install the new drive alone side it? Then I can run applications I want to be fast from the SSD but still have the extra space on the old hard disc?

Any ideas  or help would be very much appreciated!

Thanks,

Alastair

    1) you need to craete a recovery USB media using Acer/Windows software, 16GB USB flash drive is ok; so you will be able to boot from it after your SSD installation and re-install windows as from factory

    2) no additional SATA connection as far as i know, so only on SSD/HDD at time.

    I'm not an Acer employee.
