ACER Aspire R14

My 2 in 1laptop tablet was apparently dropped.  The screen is a total loss, and a corner of the laptop was damaged.  I can still plug in the power, the battery takes a charge, and with the help of a paperclip I can turn the power on, but I obviously have no idea if it is even booting up.

So my question is this.  Will ACER sell me a "skeleton" system where i can transfer / install my

8GB of LPDDR3 RAM

256GB SSD (M2)

i5-6200U processor

Basically, it costs too much to repair this and I am trying to save some cash on replacing everything as it looks like these components are still operational.

Thank You, Daniel

I don't work for Acer so can't answer your question.

But just to let you know that you can buy brand new for $500 and refurbished for $430 plus $2.00 shipping.  Newegg is typically no tax as long as you don't live in California.  You'll have to do the math to see what parts you need and how much they cost...to see which is the better option.

First I would see if you can bring it up with and external monitor, keyboard, and mouse.

If so I would create a recovery drive (16GB FAT32 flash) and system image (external NTFS drive). Also save the Windows license key from the BIOS (third party ssoftware)

Then I would go to the Acer Recertified Store, and find the least featured i5 or i7 R14 available.

Next save all of the information from it (if Win 10 can use the same recovery flash but need new system image and license key capture.

Finally swap in your SSD and ram expansion if needed and there you are (may need to contact M$ about the license activation - why need to save keys)

And OTOH that deal from Newegg mentioned above sounds good.

Thanks for the feedback.  The online deal looks to be a quick way to go.  I confirmed the SSD is still good.
