Upgrading the hard drive on an Acer Aspire 5755

I bought an Acer Aspire 5755G last year. 500GB HDD but now I need to upgrade (didn't realise how much space I'd need). I've identified a larger HDD that is compatible with my laptop. How do I go about transferring the settings and OS though? The laptop of course did not come with any Windows discs, as Windows 7 was pre-installed. I made some backup/recovery discs when I first got the laptop. Are these sufficient for installing Windows 7 on my new HDD? Or do I need to buy a Windows reinstallation disc off ebay (since I have a product key already)? What exactly will the recovery discs transfer over? As you'll probably know, Acer laptops come with lots of pre-installed software, some of which is important to the general running of the system. Can all these programs be transferred? Basically, can I have my laptop running exactly as it is now on a new HDD? Help is appreciated.

    Good day

Factory default discs is the image of your Acer Operating System from factory. If you use those discs, the Operating System will be reloaded like the 1st day you got the machine. Any other additional data will need to transfer manually from one HDD to another (copy and paste), or use Acer Backup Manager.
