Login credentials cleared when selecting language

When logging in to the community, you get the login / password challenge together with a checkbox to say whether you wish to remain logged in and then, at the bottom, a language selection drop-down.

 

The workflow is such that you'd enter your login credentials, check the checkbox if you wish, and then choose the language if it's wrong.

 

If you change the language dropdown, the login credentials get cleared, meaning you have to enter them for a second time.

 

Can this be addressed as a software issue please?

 

Browser is Chrome 54.0.  May or may not be browser-specific; I haven't tried using any other browser.
