My Acer ICONIA Tablet W500 recovery discs won't load.

When I perform the recovery per the user manual and the video, I get to the "Windows Boot Manager" screen and thats it...

Can anyone help me...???

I want to reinstall my OS back to its factory settings.

Thanks.

Larry

I was lucky enough to figure out how to get the recovery disc (DVD drive) to start properly.

I had to perform some additional steps before orignial step 3.

Here's a cut-n-paste from the instructions with my additional new steps as Step 3 & 4 (in red)(the text editor renumbered the steps automatically).

"In order to reload the operating system of your tablet, please perform the following steps:

    1. With the tablet turned off, connect an external DVD optical drive into an available USB port and insert the first of the recovery discs.
    2. Make sure the unit is plugged into AC power.
    3. Press and hold the volume-down key and the Windows button simultaneously.
    4. Press and release the power button while keeping the volume-down key and the Windows button held down. This powers up the external DVD drive only. Wait a few seconds until the drive is approximately at full speed and release the two buttons.
    5. Press and hold the volume-up key and the Windows buttonsimultaneously.
    6. Press and release the power button while keeping the volume-up key and the Windows buttonheld down.
    7. Release the volume-up key and the Windows button once the screen comes on.
    8. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the recovery process."

    So far, so good...
