Aspire V3-531 only 1 HDD showing in BIOS

Hi,

I recently upgraded my girlfriends laptop with an SSD, I moved the original HDD to a caddy and removed the optical drive. This setup worked fine for a few weeks. After some time the SSD stopped to boot up, and now in the bios only the HDD shows up if both drives are plugged in. I already updated the BIOS but unfortunately this did not solve the problem.

Any ideas what might case this problem?

If the BIOS does not see the other hard drive usually this means there is a hardware problem with the drive. Try a different drive or try that SSD drive in another computer. This way you can tell if it's the drive or the hard drive bay in the V3.
