Product Registration Purchase Date Format

When I tried to register a number of my ACER products through the website, the date format came up as an error even though I used the site's calendar to select the purchase date. It said the date should be of the format mm-dd-YYY. I'm using Windows 10 with the date format set to YYYY-mm-dd (can't see how this affects the problem I'm seeing with the ACER product registration page).
I tried to re-enter the date manually using the mm-dd-YYYY format and still got the error message. When I used the dd-mm-YYY format the product registration process worked and the date of purchase appeared correctly even though it was in the YYYY-mm-dd format.
Someone should fix the error checking on the registration page.
