Chromebook CB3-111 not charging after installing new battery

A couple of weeks after warranty expires, my Chromebook CB3-111 will not charge while plugged in. After reading many on-line forums, I decided to purchase a new battery.  After installation, the problem still persists: battery light remains orange, and battery % icon shows 1% (even after hours plugged in).

 

Is there a need for a new charging cord?  Is there some voltage regulator on board not allowing batter to charge?

    It could be the mainboard or a bad AC adapter. You can try an AC adapter to see if this resolves the issue. If it doesn't, we would recommend the Chromebook be serviced at that point.
