Predator G9 591 downclocking

As noted by the title, I was wondering if it's normal to have the CPU downclock while on battery in the high performance state with Nvidia battery saver turned off?

I get massive drops in performance when playing games and its suddenly smooth when plugged in. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

It is normal for this to happen when you unplug the AC adapter. Just like other power savings features like the screen going slightly dimmer, etc. You can try tweaking the power settings in Control Panel but there isn't a separate setting for CPU itself.

Power Center turn on High Performance

Nvidia Control, turn on "Maximum Performance" under program settings.
