Switch 10E - Why is the audio quality with headphones so bad?

Hello~

I have a Switch 10 E and while I'm fairly happy with the sound quality that the speakers produce, the moment I plug in regular headphones into the jack plug, the sound becomes distorted. Voices disappear almost completely, there's odd sound interferences and the overall effect is a muddy, unclear mess. The moment I unplug the headphones, the sound quality is back to normal. I have tried various headphones that work fine on other devices, but none work on the tablet. Whenever I plug the jack in, I get three options but none of them make a difference.

Listening to an mp3 on windows media player sometimes works (with lots of swearing and turning the jack plug around until magically it works... somewhat, the quality is cringey and with much echo) but listening to a YT video or a Skype call is downright impossible.

This is a very annoying issue and while I'm aware I can't expect the world's best audio quality from a tablet, I just want to be able to listen to some songs and watch (YT) vids without everybody around me listening in.

Is there a way to fix this?

Sorry you are having problems with the audio quality on your Acer Switch. This is not a known issue but since the sound is bad only while using headphones and you noticed there is a difference when turning the jack plug, the headphone jack may need to be replaced. If the system is under warranty please contact your local Acer service location from this link: http://www.acer.com.cn/ac/zh/CN/content/home
