Hello, as mentioned in the title I noticed a massive drop of the GPU (Nvidia GTX-960M) perfomance whenever I unplug my power cord.

I tried to fix this by changing every possible option in the power management settings both in windows 10 and in my gpu control panel. Nothing worked.

The GPU downclocks from an average of 1000Mhz to 150something MHz. How can I fix this?

Thank you in advance!

    Hi,

Did you think about the reason why this is in the first place?

Do you understand that your notebook has a 75W GPU and probably a 45W CPU (if it's an i7). Sum it up and you get 120W TDP, ignoring the other components inside the notebook. This would mean more than 10A draw from the battery, at full usage. I am sure that the battery would not be able to provide this amount of current at the same time. This is there mainly for safety reasons.

Also if it would be like you want, and let's say the draw would be 12 A (with all the components inside) the battery would last for roughly 20 minutes, assuming no battery wear level.

This thing is in place on most of the gaming notebooks out there not just Acer. And I think it's in place by Nvidia itself and not by Acer.
