Can this Tablet Sleep when laid face down or covered ?

I seen there is a auto sleep mode or hibernation or shut off ( which ever you pick ) on this W 510 tablet ) Just curious if it works or will work correctly when covered or laid on it's face?  As the Power Options in the control panel says Lid Down/closed - Sleep ! 

 

Wondering if you put a smart cover Acer offers will it sleep when the screen is covered much like Ipads do and or some Android tablets ? Surely it's not just when it's dock to the keyboard

I tested the device and I can confirm that it does not go into sleep mode when put face down or when the display is covered. The only way for it to recognize the lid is down, is if it is actually in the dock. I hope this is helpful.
