AcerPredator G9-592 - is it possible to replace WiFi/BT card? (technical question)

Member Posts: 14 New User

Dear Community, Acer Support.

I would like to ask is it possible from technical point of view to replace WiFi/BT card to Intel's one (8260?).

As far as I am aware Acer is not whitelisting cards but are there any firmware changes or connectivity issues that might be preventing different card from working?

Thank you in advance for any meaningful reply.

PS: my question is motivated by one issue with BT after changing the card. Using freshly installed Windows 10 Anniversary Update and most recent Intel drivers - while having no issues with WiFi - I am not able to use BT mouse/keyboard after recovering from sleep. Based on Event Viewer Windows was not able to store keys properly.

While it is hard to get any proper info I was wandering if this might be related to platform (laptop) itselt, not issues with drivers from Intel.
