Iconia B1-710 with a DSLR

Hi all,
I am trying to hook up my Iconia B1-710 to my DSLR camera (Canon 60d) to be used as a monitor/screen.

I have tried a couple of different apps from the play store but I can't get anything to work!
I'm using a simple connection mini-to-micro usb via an on-the-go connector but the tablet doesn't even register that something is plugged into it.
I've spent a lot of time internet searching for a solution and have established that it should just work with an app.... but any advice is either inconclusive or way too complicated for me to get my head around!

Any suggestions/advice would be very gratefully received

your tablet doesn't support USB OTG devices, so you can't connect it to a DSLR using an USB cable.

    I'm not an Acer employee.
