Switch Apha 12: Weird Behavior w/ Keyboard Touchpad

For the most part I love this machine, but I'm having a problem that's making me want to return it. Sometimes (I can't tell what causes it) the machine will be in laptop mode, I'll be using the keyboard, and it will give me a warning about disconnecting the keyboard (which I haven't done) and then the touchpad will start working poorly. The main thing is that it loses the one-tap touch click, and instead requires me to use the mechanical click, but still tracks my finger, leading to really wonky behavior of the cursor. This has happened each time I've been using the machine for an extended period, and it's INCREDIBLY irritating. Does anyone know what causes this, or how to turn off whatever is happening?

Here's another absolutely bizarre thing with the keyboard: I was just trying to log into the Acer bloatware that came with it, and used my Facebook to do so, and it switched the keyboard to be operating with the FN key held down. Completely bizarre and insane. Is this a BIOS problem? I'm pretty much convinced I'm returning this machine unless I can get some sort of solution in the next few days. It's a shame, because it has everything I want at exactly the right price point.

Is there any chance you've got some corrosion or dirt on the connector between keyboard and tablet? The magnet on mine seems plenty strong to hold things together, but I could see how there could be problems in that area.

Go to the Acer Drivers and Manuals support page for your region -> Notebook -> Switch Alpha 12 -> firmware tab -> and then try updating the keyboard firmware.

I know what you are talking about. I am experienceing the exact same issue. It is so annoying. Sometimes it works to pull the keyboard off and reattach it, but most of the time not even that works. I updated to the latest keyboard firmware, but to no avail. I am considering returning the device. Have you been in touch with Acer support yet?

I've hpad this issue for some time now...started out of nowhere. It seems to be somehow connected to a configuration of fingers I've left on the touchpad too long.

I've found no sure fire answers to this accept to reboot.

Today, instead of rebooting, I pressed Fn F4. It went to sleep and then I had my touchpad sensor touch click back.

    Hope this helps someone!
