Starting up the computer today, the one and only profile on the system resulted in "Profile not found". Several reboots resulted in same error message.
I opened another computer and went tp Microsoft help but 20+ pages of people had the same issue and the ONLY answer that resulted in success had the link deleted - so very helpful of the admins. It woulod not have helped me anyway as it required your ability to get Windows started in another profile to fix.
So I checked the Acer forums and could find no help.
Alt+F10 brought up the troubleshooting screen but when I clicked on restore Windows it resulted in a message of "That directory is locked - unlock directory and continue" which is pretty useless as I cannot enter the system to unlock anything.
So, I tried the option of "Repairing disk errors" and it started the process with the warning "This might take over an hour to complete". Right now it has been three hours without any change.
Is it supposed to take this long?
Or should I bail and try another option?
