Canceling DVD access on Windows boot for Aspire 5930

I have an Acer Aspire 5930G (BIOS v.2.16 up-to-date) and at boot / Windows startup, the DVD is accessed several times with a "disturbing" sound/beep (2-4 times). I accessed the BIOS and I put the DVD to boot from the last position, but I found no option to cancel any boot from the DVD device.
There is a possibility to cancel the DVD access on startup? Can anything be done in BIOS or Windows?

Thank you!

Some BIOS has the option to disable the boot devices.

    When this issue started?

Does the optical drive works? Does it take time to access if any media is inserted?

This issue seems to be with the optical drive when you turn on the computer during POST it send signal to all hardware devices attached and wait for the ready signal from them, if it fails it will resent the signal again for some time and wait for the signal if it fail to receive the ready signal it will record the device not present and will start the boot process.

Some case after few try the BIOS will receive the ready signal from the device then it will proceed to boot. Your case seems to be similar to this.
