Iconia One 7 B1-730HD Not recognized in OtherDevices as ADB Interface

Greetings.

I've seen a similar message left unanswered in this forum, so I must ask too (http://community.acer.com/t5/Android-Tablets/Iconia-not-showing-in-ADB-Devices-list/m-p/327660/highlight/false#M19774).

In Other Devices, on the PC, we need to get "ADB interface" displayed when we connect our Iconia One 7 tablet.

The objective: install android apps from the PC Android Studio.

However, this never happens, even after enabling the "Debug over USB" inside "Programmer Options".

Is there a solution? How did ACER manage to install anything on this tablet model anyway??

have you tried to run "adb devices" from a command prompt?

you don't need to have  your device listed as ADB interface.

i suggest you to try this small package and check if you are able to use ADB:

    Thanks for trying.

Is it just typing: "adb devices" in a comm promp window? I'll try that.

As for what is needed, I'm simply stating what is written on the ACER driver Readme file. And the truth is, I never get to see the tablet connected, from within the Android Studio; there is no way to transfer my Apps.

This driver must have some malfunction, it doesn't matter what installation method I choose, via "Update Driver" or running it's .exe after unzipping, it always fails to install. No error message shown, zero, nada. I do have the B1-730HD portabe device on device manager, but the "ADB interface", that we get in Device Manager when connecting any other android tablet or smartphone to the PC (after enabling programmer options and USB debug), simply never shows up.

As for your last suggestion, I thank you but I only install stuff from official sources. If ACER does not recognize this situation, as it fails to recognize a problem with the wireless connection of this tablet (we need to keep inserting the password because the device does not retain it), I am simply stuck with a malfunctioning device.

One last question here: is there a channel I can use to let ACER know about this driver malfunction?

    Thank you

I just tried doing the adb devices in a cmd window. Nothing happens because it is not recognized as a command.

As far as i know, ADB drivers are all from Google, at least on the last 2-3 years, producers don't need anymore to build a custom ADB drivers since it will use the Google ADB.

by the way, reading the readme from Acer drivers package, seems that they added and ADB driver, seems a little bit strange.

but if "adb devices" is not recognised as command, this means that the android enviroment is not set as general and you need to run it from a command prompt in the adb.exe folder; check where PC android studio installed.

Hey thank you again for staying with me on this. I've noticed we can share images, I'm sure this will help us to comm:

I have no "adb.exe" file in my computer anywhere.

Inside the ".android" folder of the installation related to Android Studio, I have an "adb_usb.ini" and some other files, but this is not the driver.

Image of my Android Acer Driver Folder:

     AcerAndroidDriverFolder.JPG

Image of my DeviceManager with Tablet connected, Programmer options Enabled and USB Debugging selected:

    DevMan.JPG

    About the Exclamation errors:

    1. MTP: says "the drivers for this device are not installed"

    2. B1-730HD: says "this device cannot start"

One last thing: I just noticed this tablet came with a "SanDisk micro SD HC I" card. I've had some problems with this HC type of SD card on other devices. I'll try to use a normal one, not HC, and see if it helps.

Would you like me to post pics of my android studio environment too, when I try to run the app on an external device but it finds no tablet?

Please take your time, you are the only person in the world with me on this, I value that very much.

    Best Regards

ok, you need to double click the 2 devices with an exclamation mark and then select to browse to the Acer driver folder and let install the drivers.
