I'm looking to purchase this model.  In the UK it costs approx £620.

In the US it costs approx $450 https://www.amazon.com/Acer-V3-574T-Touchscreen-i5-5200U-keyboard/dp/B018ZYVE7U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1469176880&sr=8-1&keywords=ACER+Aspire+V3-574T

A universal power supply costs approx $55. Total US cost approx £383.  I have a friend in the US with a DHL account.  Is there any reason why I shouldn't purchase this and have it shipped?

Also, why do Acer charge approx twice the price in the UK?

    Hi,

The fact that is the same model, doesn't mean it has the same specifications. I think this is obviousSmiley Happy.

The closest price to your specified price range (£620) was this one:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-Aspire-V3-574T-Touchscreen-Processor/dp/B01FK6L5HA/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1469184612&sr=1-1&keywords=ACER+Aspire+V3-574T

And if you compare it with the one from US you can notice. 6GB RAM (US) vs 16GB, I5-5200U vs I5-5257U, 500GB HDD vs 1TB SSHD, 1366x768 (HD) VS 1920x1080 (FHD).

Put all of this together and you will see the reason for price difference. Also don't forget that US doesn't have VAT as UK (20%)...

LE: I changed the link as I missed it.

    Does it worth it?

Well depends. One of the issues is the warranty. If you will need service during the warranty period, you will need to send it back to US.

Also, the power brick is usually universal (100-240V) so it will work, just you will need an adapter or a new cable to match your socket.
