Aspire 5755 Power Port Broken

The port for my power adapter on my laptop seems to be broken. For the past weeks I could jimmy the cable around and eventually find a position that will receive power but now I cannot. Of course this is within a two weeks of losing Warranty. I'd like to fix it but I'd need to know exactly what to do (because it probably involves soldering which I've never done), or it would have to be relatively cheap to fix. Any suggestions are welcome, either how I can fix it or a general idea of how much it would cost.

Without examining the system, I can not say for certain what would need to be done to fix it. I would recommend you contact Acer support for your region to inquire about setting your unit up for service.

From what I can tell the website only seems to support in-warranty units. I don't see a single thing about contacting them for out of warranty help at all.

Yes, the website only allows for in-warranty units to be set up for repair at this time. Please send me a private message with your name and telephone number, and I will have someone contact you to assist.

I managed to find my way to a not-warranty area, but unfortunately the cost of repairs will be $200. Seeing as how the laptop itself cost 550 and I don't have that kind of money, repair through Acer will not be happening. Thus I need to either bring it in to a local place or find out how to fix it myself. I do appreciate your assistance, though.
