Problems with hard reset of Acer Iconia Tab8W

Hi,

I am helping a friend with a tablet. They did a factory reset of the tablet, but when it starts up now the screen is black, but when I touch it a cursor with hourglas icon shows up.

If I hold in the Vol+ button and the power button the device goes into Setup Utility 5.0. I don't get to the regular screen that the video tutorials on the interwebs refer to.

Can anyone help me? I am trying to hard reset it one more time, but maybe there is a better solution? Any experience with this problem in particular?

Typically that type of problem means the computer wants to do something, such as install updates, before completing the startup of Windows. Your best bet is to make sure it is plugged into mains power and let it run with the black screen/hourglass for as mjuch time as is needed for the process to finish. With many of these weaker machines it can take as long as several hours to complete one of the big updates...
