BIG Problems with Acer Predator XB280HKbprz - no signal

Hi all,

I'm experiencing great problems with my new monitor. It has worked for about a week through a DP 1.2 cable. However, due to human error I managed to destroy the original DP cable. I ordered a new one (DP 1.2 version) and put an old screen through HDMI on my pc for a few days.

After the new cable arrived I haven't been able to get a signal to my screen. However, the screen IS recognized when I've got both my HDMI monitor and DP monitor plugged in. I could attach a NVIDEA Control Panel image if it is necessary. On my various attempts to get this monitor running again I've had a duplicate screen once (when I rebooted it was gone and I haven't been able to replicate it ever since).

I've tried several things:

1. Install new drivers for XB280

2. Install new drivers for my GTX 1080

3. Clear my BIOS settings (CMOS reset)

4. Unplugged power cords and plugged them in (monitor first)

5. Edit ErP settings in BIOS (S4/S5 enabled)

6. Set power usage to high performance (to reduce chances of sleeping modes)

7. Cried, cried and cried, to no avail.

I'm about to give up and return this monitor to acer, I'm pretty sure it's a firmware issue. Only other possibility is the DP cable being broken, but since it's recognized through NVIDEA and I've got a signal once I think it's not the case.

I've read several others having problems with Displayports and Gsync monitors. Please help me out!!!!

I either need to do something savvy, get a certified new cable from Acer or Acer should tell me which DP cables should work.
