Nvidia DSR on Acer x34

hey all,

can anyone verify nvidia dsr scaling would work on the acer x34 for example if i want to game at 2560 or even 1080 can i do this on this monitor ? either through windows resolution or nvidia dsr scale back ?

Yes you can use either method, you aren't forced to run desktop or games at 3440x1440.  As with any monitor, you can run in your monitor's native resolution or lower without issue, or use DSR and then downscale/upscale to your requested resolution, providing the two resolutions you want to use are matching in aspect ratio (16:9 or 21:9).

 

You can even game in 16:9 resolutions (for example if a game doesn't support ultra-wide 21:9) and you will simply see black bars down either side of the screen with the game being displayed in the middle.  There is also a setting in the OSD "aspect ratio" to stretch content from HDMI (such as a console) so it will fill the whole screen but look dis-proportioned, instead of having it with black bars 16:9.  The choice is yours.

Hey just wanted to say thank you for your response and well informative answer I couldn't find a straight answer anywhere and this was the only thing holding me back from grab a unit but now I think I will end up getting one again Thanks much appreciated
