    Hi,

    I assume that you have a 5750G

Here is an old topic where they discussed about the RAM upgrade.

     http://community.acer.com/t5/2014-Archives/Aspire-5750g-ram-upgrade/td-p/21407

In that topic is written that your notebook supports maximum 8GB of ram (even if in the CPU specification on intel it is stated that the notebook supports 16 GB of RAM)

You will need to check how many memory sticks you have currently installed. http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html

If you have a single stick of 4gb you will need another stick of 4gb DDR3 which would cost you around 25$, or if you have 2 sticks of 2 gb you will need2 4GB sticks to replace the other two 2GB ones so the upgrade would cost 50$

I hink you mean a 5750G, not 5705G... If so, it's a Sandy Bridge (2nd gen) chipset with two memory slots. You can certainly upgrade it from 4GB to 8GB by replacing both SODIMMs with 4GB modules. It's *possible* that it wourk with 8GB modules for 16GB, but since 8GB modules weren't around when it was released it's not speced for them.

No upgrade for the chipset, I'm afraid, though they did do an i7 version so you might be able to swap the processor for an i7 2nd gen. I don't know about tweaking the speed though so you might have to find an i7 with the same clock speed as your i5.
