Z220 Liquid – my saved-up questions!

Hi everybody,

I've been using and enjoying (for the most part!) my Acer Z220 Liquid for a few months now. Appropriately, I've been using a notepad on the phone itself to compile the questions I have about it. Ready?:

_ Is there a way to alphabetize the app list? Or must it always be in the order in which the apps were installed?

_ My old "flip" phone always showed how many texts I'd have to pay for when composing a message. (E.g., if I exceeded the max. characters for one text, it showed that I was into my 2nd one.) I can't see where the Android's Message app does that. All I see are some mysterious numbers in the upper right corner—e.g. "17/1". (What does that mean?)

_ Why does the auto-brightness feature work so poorly? Sometimes it's way too bright or way too dim, and I must turn it off and return to manual. Is this a known problem?

_ How do you import your own ringtones? Can they just be MP3s, or must you convert them to a special format?

_ I stopped wearing a wristwatch years ago, when I got my first mobile phone—because the time was always right there. As with all my other phones, I usually keep my Z220 in Airplane Mode (unless I'm expecting to hear from someone) to save battery time (which is pretty short on the Z220) and avoid unnecessary radiation. However, this causes the Z220 to "forget" what time it is. It's usually wackily off, until I reconnect to the network. Does it actually have to keep downloading the correct time, rather than just occasionally verifying it, as all my previous phones did (and computers do)?

Thanks for your help! – A.
