Flickering XG270HU Out Of Warranty - Firmware Request

I have been reading a handful of threads relating to a Firmware update available for my XG270HU display which may resolve the flickering I began seeing a few days ago. I understand this is not something that is typically made available to customers, but I am hoping that someone out there will have some pity on me and will help given the fact that I am out of warranty in the first place.

I purchased my display from the acer store on ebay in October of 2015, it was refurbished.

I have come to learn that despite being refurbished, the firmware was NOT updated, I am still on Firmware Ver 15 01 23 -01

You can see here that Acer had an updated version of the firmware at this point in time. It's frustrating to buy a half-repaired refurb unit. Please let me attempt repairing it the rest of the way! It's destined for the dumpster without it, anyway.

Ok, so it turns out this Firmware update is only able to be performed by physically replacing a chip within the monitor. More than frustrating this can''t be pushed through some other method.

My refurbished monitor was repaired by acerrecertified.com who sports the label "official acer recertified" on their website - they stated that Acer does not make the replacement chip available to service centers such as themselves and that I would need to send it directly to Acer themselves (aka I'd need to be under warranty) in order to actually get this fixed.

So... How exactly can I get my monitor actually repaired? I can't trust the certified repair centers to fix this problem, they stated that themselves.
