Hi, Please can ACER release a new BIOS that allows one to disable the soldered in 512MB of memory (DIMM slot 2 I think it is) so that it runs purely on the plugged in memory (On DIMM slot 1 I think)?

The reason I need this is that the soldered in on-board 512MB on my machine has failed and ACER technical support told me to throw it away and buy a new Netbook since a replacement motherboard costs 30% more than a NEW netbook!!

It would be so much easier to just disable the 512MB DIMM !!

I would also like to see this as a feature in a new BIOS. I just picked up two of these netbooks and I would like to max out their performance. I would like to be able to install 2GB of RAM, and I need to disable the onboard RAM to do so. I also worry about the onboard memory failing. I will be using these for school (keeping them synched with each other), so it would be a bad thing if the onboard memory failed, rendering the unit useless.
