Hi,  I new here I have the all in one Aspire Z3101 U4062 here is a description of my issue

I have a Z3101 U4062 all in one model desktop which I've owned since new when I checked available updates at Acer.com there was an available update for bios this is the only available update I haven't applied yet as far as I know the update is compatible with my system I've only recently started to have an issue where the system shuts itself down and reboots I haven't yet done a full os restore as this doesn't always happen (but its very frustrating) I've read that sometimes the power plug/supply does eventually need replacing or that dust could be causing the system to overheat I haven't replaced or made any upgrades to this yet since my system is officially out of warranty will opening up the back be a problem and taking a look for issues?

It wouldn't hurt to run Malwarebytes and see if it finds anything.https://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/

If the power socket feels solid and doesn't move around, it's probably OK. Dust build up can affect a computer. I have had desktops suddenly shut down and refuse to start, open it and blew out the dust and it started right up.

Be careful when you tale off the back that you don't pull any wires out. There may be things to undo before the back comes off.

The power supply is a solid state board and you might look for capacitors bulging out, usually at the top.

The latest Bios is 5 yrs old, It could possibly help something. The system. Recover it or see if it's corrupted.

Open a Command Prompt as Administrator

Run commands one at a time

    1 dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
    3.2 dism /online /cleanup-image /checkhealth
    3.3 dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

    sfc /scannow

Hi, I appreciate the response the system was working fine up until the last few days of May. I'm having a new issue the system will briefly start up the fan isn't turning over and within the brief second or so the blue bar will blink then stop system turns off power light remains solid. Im thinking the motherboard has fried don't know about a possible hdd failure. Parts for this particular model appear to be extremely htf. How would I test the motherboard and what would I need to be looking for or at on the motherboard itself? Should I test the PSU?

Yes,  test the power supply. It is old so the thermal compound on the CPU is probably shot. Take off the CPU heatsink and fan and see if there is anything left of it. You can also have bad solder connections on the board. You would need to take it to someone with the correct equipment to test out a motherboard. If you take it out and take good pics of both sides, maybe we can find a replacement. This is an All-in-one?

Hi, yes this is an all in one system. I haven't yet removed the fan or heatsink but will as soon as I can. I do have a few pics but I haven't removed the motherboard yet

I have removed the fan and unplugged it from the motherboard. I have pics underneath where the fan is the silver thing might be shot but not sure. Is this part supposed to be removed as well?

For the past few months my computer that is an all in one has been humming. Once in a while it shuts off on me.  I have took it to professionals and they have cleaned the dust out and put it on stress test and nothing. I think I got it about 2011. What else do I need to do?
