M5-583P TOLUD for a spare mPCIe slot.

Apperently, I found a extra FULL mpcie slot that can handle something in there that was intended, but never included. Such as a notebook discrete graphics card or something. I don't know, but what I do want to know is how to find the TOLUD for the "missing" slot on the device manager panel.

Here is the empty slot for it, in a picture:

mPCIe Double slots.

To the right is my N-7260 wifi adapter by Intel using that slot to the right, to the left is a empty unused full mPCIe slot just waiting for something to be there, problem is, I can't find the TOLUD for it in device manager to check the spare memory.

Here is my device memory with the TOLUD values.

As you can see, I can't simply find that empty slot, I don't even see something labed "PCIe Bus" or "PCIe Bus #2" which should be the port's name. And it seems like it could be deactivated or something. If you can find the TOLUD memory count, that would be great!

That connector is a mSATA Connector. I don't see anywhere to secore a SSD, unless there is something in the case.

Stick a SSD in it and see what your TOLUD values say. It's not going to hurt anything.

mSATA? That shouldn't be correct, because the port has the same name/branding/id code as the N-7620 wifi adapter's port, and when I checked it using HWtools, it showed up as a PCIe port #2, but doesn't appear in device manager, possibly due to neglected use or never activated. Intel's offical site shows the N-7620 working only on USB OR PCIe.

    HWtools:

Selected is probably the neglected port from the first photo from last post. And there should not be enough space to fit more than one on the other side of the board. I don't know for sure though.

I tried to connect the wifi adapter to that port, but due to it being a full PCIe slot, I don't have a bracket to make it stick in properly. It will stick up and not appear. I will try putting something to prop it up while I run the computer to see if it appears though. I just want to figure out how that PCIe port shows up blank while software detection finds it and find TOULUD memory, I tried both SiSoftware and HWtools at this point. I don't know how to get it to work. And thanks for the help by the way.

    From the M5-583P service manual

Oh thanks! I've been trying to find a parts list of my motherboard for quite a while now! And this solves my question as well! Perhaps it was to be used as a way to clone items into a second drive, but only released in later models. Thanks alot, but what is the TOLUD memory for the mPCIe slot?  And why does it show a empty mPCIe slot as well? Because if this is mSATA, what is the spare mPCIe slot shown in the last images and where might I find it? Also, I found only one stick of 4GB Kingston memory, so therefore, there is another 4GB intergrated right? Sorry for all the questions, I wanted to know if I have enough TOLUD memory in the mPCIe to run a external Graphics card. And thanks alot for your time.

p.s. I would love it if you can give a link to where you found my mobo, that would be great! :3

Kind of a bump, but I need to know the TOLUD for the selected port:

Also, I still don't know why it appears there is a spare mPCIe slot somewhere, or so the detection software says...

I found a comment on a page that confirms the msata slot.

The only Pcle socket is the one the Wifi is in.

I can't help you with the TOLUD values. The first time I ever heard of it was when you brought it up. What would be the consequences of connecting a external video card if the TOLUD isn't right?

Apperently, if I do not have enough TOLUD, the graphics card will have Error 12, Not enough space to accomdate a eGPU, and I might have to do a DSDT override to clear it/expand the PCIe slot from 32-bit to 36-bit.Infomation on it is here: https://www.techinferno.com/index.php?/forums/topic/6275-pre-purchase-faq/#comment-97110 and look into 2.Also, to perform a DSDT override, https://www.techinferno.com/index.php?/forums/topic/5874-guide-dsdt-override-to-fix-error-12/#comment-91134)  Or use Setup 1.30(https://www.techinferno.com/index.php?/forums/topic/1650-diy-egpu-setup-130-previously-setup-1x/#comment-25412) which is some sort of reliable eGPU BIOS booter that chainloads the eGPU to the OS. Not really sure on it, but have many handy utilites to help accomdate the eGPU. Seems reliable due to the fact that I've seen eGPU guides link back to it. However, I will only buy it if I have no choice to.

The DSDT override doesn't look too difficult. Would you need to do this with a USB external graphics card or are those plug and play?

So basically, I have to buy a connector for my mPCIe slot which has a graphics card holder(such as http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00Q4VMLF6/ref=dp_olp_all_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=all )and I must input a power supply and PCI x16 graphics card, which then connects to a external monitor(which I have) to display images, which costs about 225+ if you use a 750ti with it. And it benefits me by reducing heat with the iGPU, have a major performace boost(despite a 2.5 GB/ps limit), and boost the lasting potiental of my laptop in the long run. It's for a giant set up that will make it more of a desktop, while able to move quickly, despite the loss of wifi( easily fixed with a USB wifi.).

For my full set from my eGPU thread, here you go!:

Yeah, I'm doing the same soon as well, just trying to find the best holder. Here's my set:

    Graphics Cardhttp://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-750Ti-Graphics-02G-P4-3753-KR/dp/B00IDG3IDO/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UT...

Setup 1.3.0(Just in case, as Error 12 can appear, or not required if you can do a DSDT override(Only works if you have a computer after 2007.))https://www.techinferno.com/index.php?/forums/topic/1650-diy-egpu-setup-130-previously-setup-1x/

    500W Power Supply(for the required 400w+ for 750ti.)http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Continuous-Warranty-Supply-100-W1-0500-KR/dp/B00H33SFJU/ref=pd_sim_147_1?...

    External GPU motherboard connector(mPCIe)http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00Q4VMLF6/ref=dp_olp_all_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=all

It's impossible to predict how the software will handle the eGPU, however, hardware should not be a problem, aside from wire handling and if the port is correct or not. This only works if you have a mPCIe SLOT.
