acerrapid unlocks display (Z410)

I found out why my phone keeps sitting unlocked in my jeans: the " AcerRapid " button on the rear unlocks my display without any further interaction. Pressing the power button on the side wakes up the display and requires sliding to unlock, but nope, that's not how the AcerRapid™ button works.

This is overwhelmingly obnoxious. The phone allows three settings:

a) what program launches when you give a short press on the button (while the display is unlocked)

b) if a long press engages the camera

c) to disable the entire functionality of the button

Does anybody have a better solution to this?

No, Acer Rapid feature was created to quickly access some functions bypassing unlock screens, so it works as designed.

    Thanks for the quick answer!

I understand how the design works, but my experience points out the implementation is flawed: the phone does not know when a human finger presses it, or when the button is just getting mashed when it's bouncing around in a pocket.

I guess I try to find an application that can override the action of the keybuttons, since the only other option is completely disabling the button.

Yes, i understand your point of view.
I had the same feeling the day they added this button, the basic idea is good butbit's just a simple hardware button without any thermal or finger sensor and can be triggered by everything.
