Blue screen "windows encountered a problem and will attempt to repair". Have not been able to boot since then, fan runs but no display. Cannot boot from DVD or usb. Appears bios is gone. I have put this HD drive into 2 other PC and all have become disabled the same. Replaced HD drive with original working drive but PC is still disabled. Something is disabling BIOS. MoBo is IPIMB-AR  Rev:1.02A. How can I restore / repair Bios?

    PC model?

have you tried to enter BIOS without HDD/DVD connected?

Pc is DX4870-UB17. Without the display working it is impossible to tell. I have tried with and without the HDD/DVD. I somehow must enable the VGA or HDMI.

    Try a clear CMOS.

unplug the power cord, take off the silver rounded battery, press power button twice and wait about 5 minutes, then put the battery back, plug the power cord and without HDD/DVD try to enter BIOS pressing Del.

Thanks ironFly but still a no go, my vdt stays dark and blank without even a cursor. I have also been reading about a UEFI bios in win 10 that resides on the HDD but cannot be seen. Could this have disabled the Bios and now is corrupt due o the upgrade and is there a process to repair it?

    absolutly not.

you can only try a BIOS recovery but honestly i don't know the procedure on your PC. Smiley Sad
