Aspire V5-573P Fan Issue

MaverickDMaverickD Member Posts: 2

I have had this laptop for 2 years and I have been hearing this loud and annoying buzzing/grinding noise coming from the fan. Is there a way to fix this? Do I have to open up the fan and how would I go about doing that? It gets especially annoying when I am on skype and the people I am talking to can't hear anything besides it. Thanks for any help.

You can try blowing it out with a can of air. Use a flashlight to look into the intake and exaust ports to see if something got stuck into the port. I have found that the fan can get clogged between the fan and the heatsink and no amount of air is going to get it out. If you are still in warranty you could send it in and have it fixed. If you're not, it looks like a fairly easy job to pull out the fans.
