Acer Iconia Tab 8W-810 will not unsleep / unlock and other problems

I have problems waking up my Iconia Tab 8 W-810, upgaded to Windows 10, after it has gone to sleep.  I have noticed someone else had a similar problem with another model, but don't know if it was solved.

Basically, the problem occurs when the tablet goes to sleep.  When I try to wake it up:

1. I press the unlock button at the side, and get a black luminated screen.  Pressing anything does not work, as the screen goes back to sleep after a few seconds.

2.  Press and hold the unlock buttton at the side, and after a few seconds I get a half-screen message saying 'slide down to shutdown your PC'.  Whether I slide up or down =, the tablet just goes back to sleep.

The only way to get the tablet running is to hold the unlock button for 20 - 30 seconds, so the tablet reboots.  It then works, but the above problem recurrs when it goes to sleep again.

I have noticed another oddity too.  When the tablet does reboot, the system time shown is wrong and this remains wrong, even though the time is set to set automatically.

I cannot check for BIOS updates, because when I search for 'Tablets' in the Drivers and Manuals site, it just says 'an error has ocurred, please try later'.

Any help appreciated!

Had a similar problem with my W4, try going into "Power and Sleep" in Windows 10 settings and make sure that "Save me power when Cortana knows that I'm away" is set to off. This improved the "wake up" on my device.

Thanks for your reply. The Cortana setting you mentioned is set to 'off' on my device and always has been.

I have now managed to update the bios to 1.06.  I don't know if that was anything to do with it, but wake-up seems a bit better now, touch wood.  Will see how it behaves over the next few days.

I have also managed check that the clock is synchronising with internet time, which it now appears to be.  Apparently sychronisation only occurs once a week.
