The quick guide is useless in describing how to use the buttons on the bottom of the screen.  The screen is way too bright.  Using with a Macbook pro.  Help!!!!!

    Hi RC13,

The good news is that monitors across the board are pretty consistent in how they deal with on screen adjustments. The bad  news is that they are still archaic because you generally only need them a hand full of times in the life of a monitor.

I don't have a G236 available, so please forgive me if I make a mistake, the basics should be right though. There should be 6 buttons in the right hand corner, you've got the power button and then 5 more moving to the left. The first button to the left of the power button will pull up your OSD and present this menu.

Notice the 5 arrows on the bottom? They correspond to the 5 buttons left of the power button. In this case, the middle button takes you into the menu and settings area. From there you can move down the Brightness setting, hit the corresponding enter button, adjust your brightness and exit out. The OSD should disappear in 10-15 seconds and you should be good to go.

    Hope this helps,
    Cory
