My laptop started to slow down in performance, and I tought I'd do back up and just reinstal the windows.
However, my laptop comes with OEM SLP not COA so I had to use Acer Recovery Managment. After I used the recovery managment to reinstall the windows, it bacame even slower. Opening files and folders, reading from a CD/DVD takes 30-40 secons, and loading programs over a minute. This is fresh windows instalattion as Acer refer to factory delivery state. Windows 8.1, fully up to date. So far, I have two programs installed, antivirus BitDefender Total Security 2016 and Steam.

I don't know why, I keep thinking that Acer Recovery managment has something to do with this. What could be slowing down my laptop? Would it be a memory issue?

    Hi Dusan

It could be a memory issue or even a failing hard drive.

Firstly - make sure all your data is backed up, just in case!

Press Windows + PAUSE/BREAK - this will show the RAM on your PC:

    Capture.PNG

If it is showing the full 8GB, then perform a memory test - see here - this should work in Windows 8.1 & 10. If it is showing less, then a stick may be loose or have failed. If it comes back clean, then it may be your hard drive.

Download & run a program like Speccy - this will inform you of the make of hard drive in your laptop. Next, go to there manufacturer's support site & download & run their diagnostics tool. This should inform you of any errors found.
