Question about jacks on acer aspire 5742 series

I was wondering if the headphone (audio out) jack is exactly the same part number as the Microphone (In) jack, just that the solder points on the motherboard lead to the appropriate places? In short, are they interchangeable, the same exact piece?  (Both pieces have the same number printed on them:  101113+H, it looks like.)

Wanna wonder some more? Plug your stereo headphones into the microphone jack. Then try setting them up as stereo microphones. 8^)

Either you did not understand my question, or I expressing it wrongly. I am going to canibalize the audio output jack from a bad mobo and looking at the mobo, the numbers are exactly the same on the input and output jacks, so i was trying to confirm that they are r eally the same piece.  thanks

I was suggesting that since the headphones gets its input via the headphone jack, and seems to output via the microphone jack using the same stereo plug, it's probably safe to assume the headphone and microphone jack receptacles are the same.
