    Can believe that it does but would really like to know "why" since UEFI has nothing to do with OS drivers. Once the handoff is made to the OS, Windows even remaps the BIOS calls.

     

    My feeling (and have done a bit of BIOS programming) is that for the UEFI vs Legacy to affect the boot like that would require something going on that is not in the standard. Not saying it can't happen, just that it shoudn't.

     

    ps while I like UEFI and use it where possible, it is just one (and possibly the last) layer of defense. On modern Windows machnes I run both DEFENDER and EMET set "paranoid" & "notify" to prevent external attacks from executing in the first place.
