V3-111p Recovery Problem

Hi, I have a Aspire V3-111P-P16L

Had windows 8.1, But I Upgraded to windows 10.

Started having issues with the laptop constantly freezing within minutes of coming on. So ran a system reset which put me back to 8.1.

Then it ran a load of updates at once, restarted but then had a "failure configruring windows updates" error and kept trying to "undo" this, problem now is it would run this for 3 or 4 hours, go to reset, then repeat in a loop, otherwise it would crash and start again.

So i thought i would do a system reset again, however this time the advanced option section doesn't have the option to, just asks for me to insert a media device. seems like it can't find it anymore

I can in running commnad prompt that the recovery partion is still there (in fact there is two?) but i can't get to make it work and reset my laptop.

This happen to anyone else? Any help would be massivley appriacted.

you can do a Reset from with in Windows, Under All settings. Then Recovery then you can set it to do a fresh clean all files...

Then I found it is best to do only a few updates at first... I had the same issue and had to do like a couple min of updates at a time for the first like 60 or 90 updates after that I was able to do as many as there was without issues....

    Hope that helps some

If you have a 16gb Usb I would also make a System Restore for your computer incse something like this happens again... Then you would be able to have it if and when needed... Also it could be that you need to press the ALT and F10 longer to get it work if it don't want to give you the Recovery seeing you have done it, It should be there still..

Thanks, I Should have been clearer, I can't get into windows as their is a start up loop of the "failure to configure updates" screen which runs for 3/4 hours, reboots then runs again. or dies...

    I cannot get past this.

Aww Ok, I wasn't sure. Part of me thought that was the issue part thought it was just not letting you finish the updates...

I would try and hate to say but Try and do the Restore again from Start...

When you Press the Power Button. Press and Hold the Alt + F10 and see if it lets you get back into the Restore... If it does. Then after done with restore just do a few updates at a time....

If not and you didn't already back a Recovery Drive for your system. You may need to contact the Store for a eRecovery Media for your system....  https://store.acer.com/en-us/extended/recovery/
