I'm new to forum and I've been looking at," can't enter cmos". My Acer v5-571 will not enter also.

I.ve tried all the solutions but has not fixed the problem. How it happened I was cleaning the hard drive with a new instal of windows 8 and used the option of resetting hard drive. At about 12 percent the computer switched off due to power shut down. When I switched back on it brings up Acer logo , then fixing screen, followed by diagnostic screen then reboots. I ve tried to enter Cmos but it fails . Has any one got any bright ideas that I might try. Thankyou.

You could try and see if your Recovery partition is still intact.

When you start your computer press Alt+F10 and see if that will get you back to the start of a System recovery. IF not and in that Dagnostic screen should give you options to do a recovery.

Also when your trying to get into cmos are you pressing F2 or delete?

If your able to do a factory Recovery then it should start back from 0 Also if Recovery isn't there with ALT-F10 and you get into bios make sure the D2D is enabled if an option...

    Hope something helps here
