My Acer Aspire V3-731 does Not say win 8 pro any more after Recovery

After putting in a new SSD into my Aspire V3-731 that had Windows 8 pro, I used a recovery discs from Acer and after recovering my OS onto a new Hard drive the OS does not say professional anymore. Is there a reason that the laptop would revert from Windows 8 pro to just Windows 8?

    I think Acer can only give you the software the came pre-installed on your computer.  If you paid Microsoft for an upgrade to Windows 8 pro, you would have to contact Microsoft to resolve the matter.

    According to the specs for your computer, it came from Acer's factory with Windows 8.  Not Windows 8 pro.

    Thanks for the reply.

     

    Thats the thing, i never bought anything from Microsoft for this laptop. The only upgrade i did was from 8 to 8.1 pro which is free in the app store. But that wont give you professional. So its strange that after all this it shows regular windows 8 instead of pro.

    I thought I would add, If you go to the support page. Then Click on Warranty, It will bring you to a page that about half way down on the left will have System Infomation Or at the bottm of the right side of the page as well. IF you click that and put in your SNID number on there and it will ask you for a code to type in, to make sure you not a Spider or Bot....

    It will bring up a page that will tell you what your system is. You will have to look over it closely because it is all the info in a one line other then like your name and warranty end date. But the line of what Model it was, Software and what not will be in there.. 

     

    If it does say that you have 8 Pro and it would say. I would contact Acer Support and see what can be done about getting you the Right eRecovery for your system...
