Stuck piece in Power port

Hello, i have an old Acer A500 tablet. The original power cord that came with the tablet broke off a while back had the plug break at about the halfway point and now is stuck within the power port. I'm looking for potential ideas or solutions to trying to get the piece out. Being half way inside, its practically impossible to grab with any kind of pliers. I would rather not have to replace the port, but will if nessesary. Thanks for any potential help and figured this could be potentially helpful for other electronics as well.

I have had to fix on friends sytems before same type of issue.

Take a Small drill bit and that may give you the ability to get i out. If not. Once you have a small hole in the part that is stuck in there you can take a Pick took, I got mine from Mac Tool but can be found all over now days. Even a Denist Pick took can work to get it out using the hole that the small drill bit made also If need to can put in 2 holes and use 2 picks if needed....

    Hope this helps some

Thanks for the advice! I was able to get my hands on a dentist pick and managed to pull it out. Considering i don't think i've tried doing anything to it for 2+ years, it's nice to finally be able to get it back up and running!
