Installing windows 7 64-bit on a acer aspire m5100.

Hi, I have an acer aspire m5100 and I want to know how to get windows 7 home premium 64- bit working 100% on it (Its original OS is windows vista). I'm using a separate hard drive to install win 7 but after it installs I have no idea what to do. When trying to connect to the internet it says "Local Area Connection" does not have a valid IP configuration", since it's a fresh install I assume I'm missing necessary drivers, This is basically where I'm lost , I have no idea how to install or find the drivers I need.

Also, My motherboard is Foxconn RS690M03.

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to get windows 7 64 bit working on my pc and if Possible, Can you link me to the drivers I need. I know it can run windows 7 32-bit since that's what I'm currently using, But I'm not the one who installed it and I really want to upgrade to 64-bit .

Edit: After doing some research on this problem.. It looks like there is no hope Smiley Sad. Guess I'll have to  install vista if i want some 100% compatible drivers..

If original OS of unit was Vista that what can be supported through Aspire manufacturer.

Seems like you already answered your own question and good luck with the return to Vista.

    Good day.
