Webcam does not work, tabs out instantly.

I have a Windows 8 Acer laptop. For the first half-year that I had it, everything worked fine. But for the past month or so I've been having problems with the webcam. When I go into the Windows menu/screen and click on the camera app, the camera app window pops up for a second and then tabs out. I can open the window again but it is just the camera logo and it immediately tabs out again. I can not see myself or use the webcam at all. The drivers are up to date and it says that it's working fine.

    Hi cRiSPy386

A couple of things to try:

    1. Use system restore to go back to a date that your webcam was working

    2. This is an online test for webcams. Try it to see if things work!

If the above fail to work, then the only other thing to do is to restore Windows from your recovery partition/USB stick or even a backup you may have made. Just remember to BACKUP all your data! If a full recovery fails to make it work, then I'd suggest your camera may have failed & will need replacing.
