It is helpful to let the community know the following:

    What computer do you have?
What operating system is on the computer?

Do you have any error messages?

ok. i have an acer one zg5 with windows xp. i am getting an error message as stated in the subject line. the message reads ' error, insuffiecient system resources to complete API.' i have been other places that are saying that its a microsoft issues related to hibernation mode. somehow it gets stuck and that i need to download something to fix it but i cant download to the acer b/c it wont get past the startup phase.

There is a Microsoft KB Update available for this issue.

    Update for Windows XP (KB909095)

You may need to boot into Safe Mode first, then into Normal Mode.

Can you press F8 when booting to get the Advanced Boot Menu?

yes and i can but it did the same **bleep** thing. i hit f8 and it went to advanced boot then i selected safe mode and it did the exact same thing. same error prompt. so here's the options but im sure you'all know. safe mode, safe with networking safe with command prompt, enable boot logging, enable vga mode, last know good config, directory, debugging, disable auto restart on failure and start normally, reboot. so i just picked safe mode and it didnt help. what do i do now

It does not appear that you are able to recover from whatever has occured to your system.

At this point, I'm going to suggest that you completely restore the system to factory settings.
