Cannot get BS-A20 to work with any compass programs i.e. Stellarium or SkyView

I have just purchased a Acer Iconia One 10" to replace my Ipad 16Gb as it was full. Unfortunately no star gazing apps such as Stellarium or compass apps will work with this tablet, they cannor find the compass points. The tablet has Android 5.1 installed plus the latest updates. A friend of mine has Samsung tablet running Android 4.2 and all these apps work perfectly on his tablet.

 

Any ideas how I can use my tablet to find compass points?

have a look at settings/Location - Mode must be High accuracy and location must be ON.

 

to check if you GPS is working, please download GPS Test from Google play

run it and from settings choose to delete A-data and re-download A-data (you must have a data connection available), then let it fix GPS position in an open enviroment for about 5 minutes the first time.
