New Predator X34 and G-Sync user

I just received my new Predator X34, and after OC to 100Hz everything seems to be working fine, expecpt I notice studdering and tearing in games as I did before.... I thought G-Sync would eliminate this.... Is there anyway to verify that GSync is enabled and working?

My system includes SLI 980ti (EVGA) and I am indeed using a DP cable.

Thanks for the help.

    Hi Xeneucs,

Please see my solution response to this thread:  http://community.acer.com/t5/Predator-Discussions/GSync-label-on-the-Predator-X34/m-p/396518#U396518

Using that method you will see the G-sync logo overlay when applications are using it.

Please be aware that right now there are also known issues with NVIDIA drivers running g-sync in windowed mode, so please also ensure that you go through the steps to enable G-sync in fullscreen mode only from the NVIDIA control panel, and run your applications in fullscreen to get g-sync to work.

It's also possible that you're running in the strange g-sync mode that NVIDIA have allowed where g-sync will potentially get switched off if you reach high refresh rates in your game.  This is done by setting "Vertical sync" to "off" in the NV control panel global settings.  I would advise to stop this behaviour by enabling the "Vertical sync" to "ON" in the global settings to ensure that g-sync is always enabled.  You can read more about this feature here:  http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/articles/g-sync-gets-even-better

TL DR - Turn "vertical sync" to ON" and turn G-sync to "ON" for "Fullscreen only" and run your games in fullscreen mode.  Use the link above to enable the g-sync banner on the left-side of the screen to know if it is working or not.

Hope this helps, let me know if you have more questions about g-sync Smiley Happy
